Frequently asked questions
How does Pictoria edit my photo?
You give Pictoria two things: a photo, and what you want done to it. The "what" can be a ready-made style from the library — anime, oil painting, marble statue, and dozens more — or an instruction you type yourself, like "change the background to a snowy forest." Your photo is sent to an AI model that produces the edited image and sends it back, usually in under a minute.
What makes a good source photo?
Clear, well-lit photos give the best results. For portrait styles, a sharp photo where the face is clearly visible and not in deep shadow works best. Blurry, very dark, or heavily filtered photos give the AI less to work with, and the result usually shows it.
Why does the same style give me a different result each time?
That's expected. AI image generation is not deterministic — running the same photo through the same style twice will produce two different images. If a result isn't what you wanted, trying again often gives you something better. Note that each generation uses a credit, including retries.
How do credits work?
Each image you generate uses one credit. You can get credits by buying a credit pack or through a subscription. Subscription credits refresh each billing period and don't carry over; credits you buy outright stay until you use them. Your current balance is shown at the top of the home screen and in Settings.
I used a credit but didn't like the result. Can I get it back?
Credits used by a completed generation aren't automatically returned, because the AI processing has already run. If something went genuinely wrong — the app errored out, or you were charged without receiving an image — email us and we'll make it right.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not inside Pictoria. Go to Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device, select Pictoria, and cancel. Canceling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, and we aren't able to issue them directly. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com using the Apple ID that made the purchase. If the issue is with the app itself, email us first — we may be able to solve it without a refund.
I paid but my credits didn't appear.
Purchases occasionally take a moment to sync. First, close and reopen the app. If the balance still hasn't updated, go to Settings and use Restore Purchases. If that doesn't work, email us with the date of purchase and your user ID (you can copy it from Settings) and we'll sort it out.
Where are my finished images saved?
Every image you create is kept in the app's gallery on your device. From there you can save an image to your phone's photo library, share it, or delete it. Images stay in the app's gallery until you delete them or delete the app.
Are my photos stored on your servers?
No. The photo you upload is deleted from our server after it has been processed, and your finished image is held only long enough for your device to download it before being removed. We don't keep a library of your photos, and we don't use them to train AI models. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail.
Do I need an account?
No. Pictoria creates an anonymous account on your device automatically — we never ask for your name, email, or a password. One consequence to be aware of: because there's no login, your credits and gallery are tied to that installation. Deleting the app can mean losing access to them.
Is Pictoria available in my language?
Pictoria is available in 30 languages and follows your device language automatically. You can also change it manually in Settings → Language. When you type an instruction yourself, you can write it in your own language.
Can I use the images I create commercially?
You keep ownership of the photos you upload, and you may use your results for personal and commercial purposes — as long as you have the rights to the source photo and permission from anyone depicted in it. Please read our Terms of Service, particularly the sections on your responsibility for uploaded photos.
How do I delete my data?
Deleting the app removes your gallery and history from your device. If you'd also like us to delete the anonymous account record tied to your installation, email [email protected] and we'll take care of it.
